Why is Blue Whiskey special to you?

It reminds me of that closing hour in a bar, late at night, with couples invariably somewhat the worse for wear;  sometimes saying things they don’t mean;  things they might regret the following morning.

What do you love the most about the finished song?

This genre of music really brings out Sasky’s wonderful voice, and the brilliant saxophone solo, not to omit Rhea’s incredible contribution; Rhea really is the Queen of Jazz.   And then of course, the Maestro’s brilliant orchestration…..thank you Mr Robert Emery!

What was the inspiration to write Blue Whiskey?

Having come up with several classical crossover songs, we thought it was about time we stretch our creativity to some fun jazz.   Rhea is a natural highly gifted jazz musician.

Here is some light relief, particularly given our current challenging health crisis.   I hope you will enjoy it.

Who did you write the song with and why?

Sasky, Rhea, and I wrote this, we wanted to come up with a crazy  fun jazz song.   It’s good to have diverse music on the album.

My name is Jamie Lonsdale, and I'm a singer/songwriter.

Music for me as a child was always my hobby; and now it has become my passion and a big part of my life. I started my career in the Royal Navy - it didn’t even cross my mind that one day I would record an album. My first song came to me five years ago, and luckily for me, they keep on coming…

I try and enjoy my life to the full. I’ve been touched by joy, blessings, and at rare moments, tragic loss; music has supported me throughout all of this. All these experiences have triggered deep emotions, and this I feel has empowered my songwriting.
