Why is Time special to you?

I love singing a sad song, it moves me far more than a happy one.  Whilst I’ve enjoyed performing in comic operas, nothing is quite like performing in La Traviata or Tosca with the soprano dying in the final scene.   Here there is hope, as the couple not only reminisce over their memories, they look to being reunited in the future for eternity.

What do you love the most about the finished song?

The song is very emotional ;  it gives huge comfort to believe that there is eternal life……..

What was the inspiration to write Time?

Even in dire circumstances, there is hope…and this song hopefully captures that faith.

Who did you write the song with and why?

Rhea, Sasky and I had four minutes left of our two hour jamming session in the gym at Coral Reef Club;  most of our songs had been happy songs;  I suggested we spoil ourselves with a sad song!   This is what we came up with.

My name is Jamie Lonsdale, and I'm a singer/songwriter.

Music for me as a child was always my hobby; and now it has become my passion and a big part of my life. I started my career in the Royal Navy - it didn’t even cross my mind that one day I would record an album. My first song came to me five years ago, and luckily for me, they keep on coming…

I try and enjoy my life to the full. I’ve been touched by joy, blessings, and at rare moments, tragic loss; music has supported me throughout all of this. All these experiences have triggered deep emotions, and this I feel has empowered my songwriting.
